Cricket is happening as I type this. Exciting cricket between England and Australia - two of the oldest rivals in the sport.

And it;s got us thinking - if there was an iOS game development version of the Ashes, which of the two countries would win?

In our defence, it's a pretty slow news day.

So here are three match-ups to decide which of the deadly rivals would take home the fictional urn filled with the burnt remains of a first generation iPhone.

CSR Racing vs Real Racing 3

Two big budget racing games complete with gorgeous graphics and controversial payment systems. One, CSR Racing, hailing from blighty, the other from our unruly former colony.

But it's Australia that comes out on top here, with Real Racing 3 scooping a Gold Award and CSR crashing into the barriers at the last corner.

Real Racing 3 is just more fun than its English counterpart. It's better looking too, and the clever multiplayer component is pretty enticing too. First blood to the Aussies.

Winner: Australia Jetpack Joyride vs Joe Danger

An endless flier takes on a speedy motorbike legend. They're both cartoony, hilarious, and delightful - but which is best?

While Jetpack Joyride is a fun diversion, and got a Gold Award, Joe Danger keeps things fresher, and is guaranteed to keep a smile on your face for longer. It got a Gold Award too.

Fun, fast, and a little bit special, Joe Danger pips its antipodean competition to the line and gives the second round to England.

Winner: England The Room vs Dead Space

One's a terrifying blaster set in deep space, the other's an atmospheric adventure set in a room. And they're scrapping it out to decide where the iOS development Ashes are going to end up.

Pow! Dead Space has zombies. Biff! The Room has intuitive touch controls. Whack! Dead Space got a Silver Award. Kaboom! The Room got a Gold Award.

It's a knockout cricketing blow! The Room sends the timbers clattering with a beautiful yorker. England wins the Ashes!
