Star Wars: Knights of the Old Republic, which would normally set you back £6.99 / $9.99, is now available to download from the App Store for just £2.99 / $4.99.

Knights of the Old Republic is arguably one of the best action-RPGs ever released. There's no arguing, however, that it's also one of the best Star Wars titles ever to see the light of day.

Set 4,000 years before the formation of the Galactic Empire, this RPG follows a Jedi Padawan as he attempts to overcome the pull of the Dark Side and save the Republic from destruction at the hands of the Sith.

As you progress through Knights of the Old Republic and visit infamous locations such as Tatooine and Kashyyyk, you'll learn how to wield a lightsaber and over 40 different force powers.

And, yeah, you can dual-wield Mace Windu-esque purple blades if you really must. Happy?

At review, Star Wars: Knights of the Old Republic nabbed a glittering Gold Award and some high praise from Pocket Gamer's Jon Mundy.

Despite some control niggles, he called it "a truly exceptional RPG", and noted that it's "one of the best Star Wars games ever released on any platform". See, we told you.

You can download Star Wars: Knights of the Old Republic right this second for £2.99 / $4.99. At that price, this RPG is - quite frankly - a steal.
