It's time for another Gamer X competition here at Pocket Gamer. Yes, really: it's that time.

On this occasion, however, Gamer X wants to find out just how good you are at Zen Pinball.

You see, Gamer X is rather proficient at flipping steel around intricately designed pinball tables - the Sorcerer's Lair table, in particular - in Zen Studios's ace pinball game.

A higher state of mind

Fancy taking on our enigmatic pocket gaming king / queen, then? Want to win some awesome prizes, yeah? Of course you do!

All you need to do to enter this amazing competition is the following...

  • Add 'Pocket Gamer X' as a Friend on Game Center.
  • Fire up Zen Pinball on iOS (go grab a copy for free if you don't already have it), and post the best score you can on the complimentary Sorcerer's Lair table.
  • Leave a comment at the bottom of this page with your Game Center ID and your score.

Updated on July 22nd, at 14:00: If I had a whistle to hand (and you could hear it), I would blow it right now.

Why? Because that's 'time' on our Zen Pinball competition, I'm afraid, folks.

So, here's the final leaderboard...

  • Todd Heller - 1,428,652,078
  • James Donnellon - 479,878,970
  • Marcus Chow - 444,090,116

As you'll have no doubt worked out for yourself, the big mover over the past seven days was James Donnellon.

In what can only be described as an herculean pinballing effort, James managed to find the requisite strength to double his personal best and snatch second place from Marcus.

Our winner, though, is Todd Heller, whose points score of almost 1.5 billion is simply astonishing. My mind is blown, in fact.

Congratulations to our winners, and thanks to everyone else for playing.

Gamer X will return soon. Very soon. At supersonic speed, actually. Ahem.

*By the way, could all of the winners please send an email to Gamer X's personal account with a screenshot of their Game Center ID as proof of entry.

Updated on July 15th, at 11:30: This competition has turned into a REAL scrap.

As we head into the final week of play, the prizes that are up for grabs this time around could still be anyone's.

Check out the current state of play, though, below.

  • Todd Heller - 1,428,652,078
  • Marcus Chow - 444,090,116
  • James Donnellon - 233,168,398

Just behind this trio of outstanding pinballers is Nagy Balazs, who still hasn't registered his mammoth 286k score in the comments section. Naughty Nagy.

John Keitz and Erik Choong are sitting in 5th and 6th places, respectively, with scores of 139k and 52k.

If you want to improve your chances of winning our Zen Pinball competition, by the way, click on this awesome Zen Pinball guide. The tips come straight from the horse's (a.k.a. the developer's) mouth.

As mentioned above, we have some superb prizes to give away to the players responsible for the highest Zen Pinball scores we receive.

And those prizes are...

  • 1st prize - A signed piece of Zen Pinball concept art; a pair of Zen Slippers; and your choice of am "I <3 Pinball" T-shirt or hoodie.
  • 2nd prize - A pair of Zen Slippers and your choice of an "I <3 Pinball" T-shirt or hoodie.
  • 3rd prize - A pair of Zen Slippers.

These are exclusive, money-can't-buy prizes for which any fan of the game would gladly crawl over broken glass. All YOU have to do, mind, is play a video game.

Good luck!
