Vincent Belorgey, best known as French house artist and Outrun album producer Kavinsky, will release a mobile game next week.

In this upcoming title, which is apparently going to be the "first ever video game based on a record", you wander the mean streets of Downtown LA, punching villains and kicking criminals along the way.

Between battles, you can even drive Kavinsky's "emblematic" car, and attempt to outrun (see what we did there?) a series of opponents.

Kavinsky's first mobile title will arrive packing some pretty nifty features.

For example, it will allow you to use your iPhone's rear-facing camera and augmented-reality technology to play bonus levels with any background you see fit.

There's also a "Retro Play mode" that allows you to play through stages with SNES-style 16-bit graphics.

Look out for Kavinsky on July 8th, "on all portable platforms and devices" (we assume that means iOS and Android. The game's going to be free.
