The Nintendo 3DS eShop is swimming in new titles this week. Drowning, even.

What I'm saying is, there's a whole ton of new games on 3DS this week, and you should be very happy about that.

But is there actually anything good? Well, yes actually - new games from WayForward and Nintendo are on the agenda, and there are plenty of classic Sega games to sample, too.

Let's get it on.

European eShop releases

Dillon's Rolling Western: The Last Ranger is a sequel to the Bronze Award-winning tower-defence-action-game hybrid, Dillon's Rolling Western. I'm expecting great things from it.

The American eShop got the game all the way back in April, but let's ignore that fact, shall we? It costs £6.29 up until next Thursday, at which point it goes to £8.99. We'll make sure to have a review before then.

Mighty Switch Force! 2 is another sequel, and a great one at that. If you thought the original game was good, then prepare to be blown away by this follow-up.

There's firefighting, dimension-switching, and lots of ladies to save. The £5.00 price tag is, quite frankly, silly cheap.

Aqua Moto Racing 3D is a watercraft racing game, revolving around exotic locations, sandy beaches, and silly stunts. That'll set you back £8.99.

Urban Trial Freestyle is essentially a Trials clone, although it doesn't manage to capture the essence of its inspiration. It's still pretty decent though, especially for the £4.99 asking price (£6.29 after next week).

3D MahJongg is... ah, how do I put this... a 3D MahJongg game. You know, with the piled tiles and the matching. It's a whopping £9.79 if you're crazy.

Virtual Console time, and Sega is back for a third week on the trot with Game Gear titles. Sonic the Hedgehog 2 (£4.49) and Crystal Warriors (£3.59) both feature.

And there's a new Project X Zone demo too, called Dark Hours, ready and willing before the full release in a few week's time.

US eShop releases

Americans get a whole bunch of stuff this week too. Here, let me prove it to you.

There's Urban Trial Freestyle for $5.59, as described above. Plus, the US gets Crash City Mayhem this week, which is strange and sort of compelling - although the $19.99 price tag is a little OTT.

Kokuga is a shooter from the creator of Ikaruga, so it's bound to be impressive. That costs $14.99, if you're so bold.

And Gabrielle's Ghostly Groove Mini is a rhythm game in which you tap with the music to make the characters on screen dance. It's from Natsume, so take from that what you will. The price is $3.99.

Americans get a whole heap of classic Sega games on Virtual Console too. Sonic Labyrinth is $4.99, Crystal Warriors is $3.99, Sonic the Hedgehog (Game Gear version) costs $4.99, and Spelunker ($4.99) rounds up the selection.

Where Europe got a Dark Hours demo for Project X Zone, the US store gets the Ghost demo. Whatever that means.

And if you're interested, Nintendo is awarding 20 extra Club Nintendo points to anyone who buys anything from the eShop this weekend. So you might want to wait a day before making a purchase.

Back next week, y'all.
