Well, Ouya's finally available in shops, then, eh.

Did you rush to your local game shop yesterday to pick up one of these Android-powered 'unconsoles'?

Or are you still not convinced by the promise of its potentially revolutionary free-to-try business model?

Either way, one of the Ouya games that's been getting a lot of attention is Matt Makes Games's TowerFall, a four-player arrow-'em-up with retro graphics and fiercely competitive multiplayer modes.

Before you baulk at the idea of spending £100 on an Ouya and ANOTHER £120 for some Ouya controllers for your pals, be aware that you can play TowerFall on Ouya with Xbox 360 and PlayStation 3 controllers.

Across a variety of 2D maps, you have to leap from platform to platform in TowerFall, staying away from your friends' arrows as you try to pelt them with your own.

Its creator describes Towerfall as "best played competitively with friends, cross-legged on the floor within punching distance of each other."

Quite.

TowerFall is available for Ouya right now. You can download a trial version of it for free. If you like what you see, you can grab the full game for $14.99.
