Back in 2008, Japanese developer Q-Games released a colourful tower defence title for the PlayStation 3 called PixelJunk Monsters.
PixelJunk Monsters (with a Deluxe suffix attached) was subsequently re-released the following year on PSP.
To its creator's utter delight, the game nabbed a highly sought-after Gold Award from Pocket Gamer reviewer Tracy Erickson.
Now, PixelJunk Monsters (with the new name PixelJunk Monsters Ultimate HD) is heading to the PS Vita.
The company behind this forthcoming port is Double Eleven, the studio responsible for the upcoming Vita port of Frozen Synapse: Tactics.
Double Eleven's enhanced port of PixelJunk Monsters will contain a bunch of new features, including touchscreen controls, PSN-powered trophies, and additional level packs.
Double Eleven will release PixelJunk Monsters Ultimate HD on PS Vita later this summer.
It will eventually be ported to both Mac and PC, too, although the launch dates for those versions haven't been confirmed yet.
