One of our jobs here at Pocket Gamer is to sieve through the hundreds of apps that hit the App Store and Google Play every single day, and unearth those glittering gems.

Lately, though, we've been giving you the chance to have YOUR say, too. Basically, we've been giving you the opportunity to tell us your favourite game from a shortlist of the week's best releases.

This week's votes have been counted (and recounted), and we have a winner: Cover Orange 2.

Cover Orange 2 is an extremely colourful and lighthearted physics-puzzler in which you're tasked with protecting the world's orange population from a nasty acid rain that threatens to destroy them.

In order to protect the vulnerable clementines, you have to build a variety of makeshift forts and shelters. You do this with environmental objects and run-of-the-mill items, such as wooden barrels, planks, and wheels.

If a single drop of rain makes it past your defences, your on-screen oranges will shrivel up and die. So, you'd better ensure your protection is solid.

The package

Cover Orange 2 features 120 different stages and a whole bunch of unlockable comic book pages. Game Center-powered leaderboards and achievements are present, too.

You can download Cover Orange 2 from the App Store as a Universal app for 69p / 99c.
