3D Ecco the Dolphin coming to the eShop in Japan, doesn't snub US and Europe on porpoise
Echolocation is everything
Sega's ambient adventure title Ecco the Dolphin is no stranger to jumping onto new platforms, and soon it'll leap onto the eShop - in Japan, at least.
The 1992 Genesis / Megadrive classic is set to explore uncharted waters on the 3DS with the addition of 3D graphics and a new "super dolphin" mode that turns Ecco invincible and allows players to progress through levels without having to worry about finding breathable air pockets.
Additionally, the eShop release includes the option to play both the Japanese and international versions of Ecco the Dolphin. Siliconera reports that the Japanese version is more difficult than the overseas version, although it shouldn't be too hard to power through on "super dolphin" mode.
Jumping through hoopsThe 3DS eShop release of Ecco the Dolphin will cost 600 yen ($6.00, £4.00) when it launches on June 26.
Unfortunately, there's no word on a European or North American eShop release for Ecco the Dolphin, but we'll keep you updated if this should change.
