Cyberpunk RPG reboot Shadowrun Returns will race onto iOS and Android on July 25th

Back in April 2012, Shadowrun creator Jordan Weisman attracted over $400,000 in Kickstarter donations for his new RPG project Shadowgun Returns.

Shadowrun Returns was originally supposed to go live on iOS and Android five months ago. The game was subsequently delayed, and its release date was changed to sometime between the beginning of May and the end of June 2013.

We have some good news and some bad news.

The bad news is that Shadowrun Returns won't - as expected - be released this month.

The good news is that it WILL be available to download from the App Store and Google Play on July 25th. Phew.

Have you played Fallout? You know, the 1997 open-world RPG in which actions are handled through a point-and-click interface.

Well, Shadowrun Returns is quite similar to Interplay Entertainment's seminal game.

Check out the video for Shadowgun Returns above for proof. The vid features some very early (a.k.a. alpha) gameplay, as well as general details on the likes of combat and terrain.

Be sure to mark July 25th on your calendar, too.
