Over on GamesIndustry.biz, Sega has confirmed that it's going to be releasing three Sonic titles for Ouya shortly after the unconsole's launch on June 25th.

Those three Sonic games will be the Bronze Award-winning Sonic The Hedgehog 4: Episode I, the rather average Sonic The Hedgehog 4: Episode II, and the Gold Award-winning Sonic CD.

All three games have been optimised for Ouya's Tegra 3 processor and will be offered as free-to-play experiences.

That latter point means you'll get the first levels of Sonic The Hedgehog 4: Episode I and Sonic CD for free, and the first two levels of Sonic The Hedgehog 4: Episode II gratis.

If you like what you play, you can then buy the full games for $6.99 apiece. That's considerably more than the Android and iOS versions of the games, which cost between $1.99 and $3.99.

While there are plenty of classic Sega titles available on Android, these three Sonic games are the only ones the Japanese studio is planning to release at the moment for Ouya.

However, according to Sega of America director of mobile business David Zemke, "We're always looking for other titles and there may be some future titles that we'd like to bring over."

The trio of Sonic games mentioned above will be available for Ouya on June 27th, two days after the unconsole's official launch.
