Great Big War Game dev injects a bit of life into the card battler with Combat Monsters
Card-carrying strategy fans take note
Rubicon has released a teaser video for its follow-up to Great Big War Game: a fantasy strategy epic known as Combat Monsters.
Following in the developer's tradition of concise, descriptive game titles, Combat Monsters features a whole heap of beasties fighting one another.
As highlighted by PocketTactics, it's a multiplayer turn-based strategy game with big, bold 3D graphics. Apparently there's an element of flavour-of-the-month card battling to it as well, but with an emphasis on accessibility and visual flair.
It appears to be a case of picking a deck of mystical creatures and sending them into battle, paper-scissors-flaming mace style.
If Rubicon lavishes the same kind of attention on the multiplayer card battler as it did the standard turn-based strategy genre in Great Big War Game, we should be in for a treat.
Check out the new teaser trailer and see what you think.
Combat Monsters is listed as 'Coming Soon' to iOS, Android, Kindle Fire, and BlackBerry.
