Joining Hands developer 10tons has announced that Sparkle 2, the aptly named sequel to its match-three puzzler Sparkle, will roll onto the App Store this June.

If you've played Sparkle, you'll already be familiar with its sequel's gameplay.

Using a strange contraption called an Orb Launcher, you have to quickly hurl various coloured orbs at a constantly moving snake-like string of similarly coloured spheres.

Your aim is to combine three or more balls of the same colour, and destroy the chain of orbs before it reaches each level's exit.

10tons will launch Sparkle 2 onto the App Store next month, and release it on Android, BlackBerry 10, and Windows Phone 8 at a later date.

We'll let you know those dates as soon as we have more info. In the meantime, check out the incredibly polished Sparkle 2 screenshot above.

You could, of course, also kill some time by downloading the original Sparkle and practising your match-three moves. This weekend, you can pick up both the iPhone [buy] and iPad [buy] versions for just 69p / 99c a pop.
