You've never 'seen anything quite like' This is Not a Ball Game

When is a ball game not a ball game? When it's This is Not a Ball Game, obviously.

Inspired by René Magritte's famous surrealist painting 'This is Not a Pipe', Absurd Interactive's This is Not A Ball Game is set to hit the App Store on May 14th, and it's full of all the raucous atmosphere of a French circus.

In this seemingly simple game, you flick balls off a ramp in order to free magic stars from the glass blocks in which they're confined. That in turn helps a fairy bring wonder and colour back to the world.

It doesn't take long for things to take a turn for the complex, mind. With seven different balls at your disposal, each with its own special power, though, you'll have the right tools to get through the 70 levels of physics-powered puzzling.

With an aesthetic that's influenced by the Art Nouveau movement and Absurdism, This is Not a Ball Game certainly looks unique. And that's something the developer was aiming for.

"We spent a lot of time getting the historical period, location, and tone right - from the unusual music score to the circus atmosphere," Sean Hart, president and founder of Absurd Interactive, said.

"We're confident that gamers have never seen (or played!) anything quite like it."

You can judge that for yourself when Absurd Interactive's free iOS game goes live on May 14th.
