[Update] Got a spare $165? Grab Namco Bandai's The Idolm@ster series from the App Store
Updated on April 22nd at 17:08: Whoops. The games actually cost $54.99 each, not $59.99.

You might not not familiar with Japan's über-popular The Idolm@ster franchise. Hell, I've just researched it, and I'm still not completely sure what it is.

But if you're curious, Namco Bandai Games has released three different The Idolm@ster games on the App Store, and they're $54.99 to download. Each.

So you'll need to spend about $165 if you want all three. We sincerely hope you still have some iTunes Gift Cards left over from Christmas.

All is forgiven, Square Enix.

Across the three rhythm-based titles, you'll take on the role of a know-it-all producer, whose job it is to recruit talented fresh-faced girls to a fictional musical studio called 765 Productions.

These girls apparently come in all shapes and sizes, and with individual personalities. There are cheerful girls, for example, as well as shy girls, quiet girls, temperamental girls, and mysterious girls.

If you carry out your job correctly, these varied females will help you host a successful concert on a gorgeous South Island resort. Whoop.

You can grab The Idolm@ster Shiny Festa: Harmonic Score [buy], The Idolm@ster Shiny Festa: Melodic Disc [buy], and The Idolm@ster Shiny Festa: Rhythmic Record [buy] from the US App Store now.

But remember to inform your kids that they won't be eating this week.
