Gaijin Entertainment brings the thunder - War Thunder Mobile announced for iOS and Android

The popular World War II MMO War Thunder is pulling a World of Tanks and is releasing a mobile version of its PC-based combat simulator.

Announced on Friday, War Thunder Mobile will be a standalone game set in the War Thunder world that's built from the ground up to play on mobile devices.

Promising "console-like graphics" and precise 3D-models of World War II era aircraft, War Thunder Mobile will also deliver a new Dogfight gameplay mode not found in the PC version of the game.

I'm Stuka'd on you

Similar to the progression of War Thunder's PC version, War Thunder Mobile will first give players control over aerial units (fighters and bombers), before introducing tanks, and finally naval units to create a fully fleshed-out theater of war.

Despite being in open beta, War Thunder has attracted over 1.5 million PC players eager to rain destruction and devastation down from the skies above the battlefield.

We don't have a release date for War Thunder Mobile just yet, but we'll keep you updated as soon as we learn more.
