Ravenous Games has just confirmed via Twitter that pixellated platformer Random Heroes 2 will hit the App Store next Thursday, April 25th.

The sequel to the Gold Award-winning Random Heroes is set to up the ante on its predecessor's retro side-scrolling antics in every conceivable way.

For starters, the level count has been increased this time out, with Random Heroes 2 boasting an impressive 90 levels set across three chapters.

Boss fights also pepper the new campaign, so look forward to squaring off against a few super-powered nasties.

As far as the playable characters are concerned, we've caught a glimpse of both the Nurse and Mystic characters in some early Random Heroes 2 screens.

There will heaps more heroes to unlock and upgrade, of course, plus some new weapons for you to master.

Even the game's controls have been revamped, with characters now able to aim vertically and strafe backwards. We haven't seen the strafe move in motion yet, but we're going to assume it looks like Moonwalking.

You'll be able to download Random Heroes 2 on iOS next Thursday. If it's anything like the first game, it will be available for free.
