New events, characters, and lots of snakes in latest update to The Simpsons: Tapped Out

EA has updated irony-filled free-to-play tapper The Simpsons: Tapped Out for the eleventh time, and introduced several new features in the process.

For starters, The Simpsons: Tapped Out contains a brand-new event.

Through this newly introduced Whacking Day event, you can win up to ten exclusive limited-time prizes by thumping the many snakes that have infested your carefully crafted town.

There are some new characters, too. After you install this update, you'll be able to unlock Ninja Homer, Miss Springfield, Drederick Tatum, Lisa (ready for gymnastics training), and Willie (complete with washboard abs).

The Ty Pennington wannabes among you will be pleased to read that EA has added a selection of new decorations, as well.

These include celebratory snake-themed items like shirts and sticks; practice snakes in various colours; and a bunch of specialty rocks, stumps, and trunks that will actually attract extra slithering snakes.

You can grab The Simpsons: Tapped Out from the App Store [download] and Google Play [download] right now for free.
