Lumber Jacked is the latest game from Spellsword developer Everplay Interactive. It can best be described as 'League of Evil with beavers'.

So, it's a speedrun platformer with tiny seconds-long levels that you must finish before the time runs out. You'll need to master the game's wall-jump, double-jump, and punch to bounce through the level under par time.

So far, so League of Evil.

Instead of bopping a scientist, however, Joe the Lumber Jack (complete with scruffy beard and plaid shirt) gives a knuckle sandwich to a beaver at the end of every level.

Thankfully, the game has top-notch touchscreen controls. Furthermore, Everplay has made imaginative use of physics, thrown in a whole bunch of enemies to avoid, and chucked in 60 fiendish levels in its new speedrun game.

Everplay was most recently responsible for frantic retro romp 1001 Attempts, which we described as "compulsive hardcore gaming at its finest - an intoxicating mix of arcade style and twitchy modern platforming".

Lumber Jacked, meanwhile, will be available on iPhone and iPad at midnight tonight, and it will cost 69p / 99c.
