Collect cards and kick ass in Tekken Card Tournament from midnight

C4M's ass-kicking card battler Tekken Card Tournament is set to strut into the App Store ring at midnight tonight.

Designed as a spin-off to the popular Tekken fighting game franchise, Tekken Card Tournament is not your run-of-the-mill freemium TCG.

While other card-based titles like Rage of Bahamut are silent, static affairs, the gameplay in Tekken Card Tournament is anything but pedestrian.

In fact, C4M's combat system is full of depth and visual fair.

The first thing you'll need to do after booting up Tekken Card Tournament is pick a fighter.

Once you've chosen from one of the eight characters on offer (including series stalwarts Yoshimitsu and Paul Phoenix), you must select your cards and prepare to fight.

So, you've come

During a fight - which is broken up into 10-second rounds - you choose between three different combat options (Block, Strike, and Focus). Make your choice, and the pugilists will trade blows accordingly in the background.

We found Tekken Card Tournament to be "a clever and additive card battler" upon reviewing a final build of the game, and duly gave it a Pocket Gamer Silver Award.

You will be able to download the game for free on iPhone and iPad from midnight. The full Android game should be available soon after.
