UK residents can now pre-order PlayJam's Android-powered micro-console GameStick exclusively from high street retailer GAME.

Through GameStick, which is priced at £79.99, PlayJam will take the Android gaming experience - previously only available on mobile devices - to HDMI-enabled TVs.

PlayJam has recently announced partnerships with Android game developers Madfinger and Hutch.

As a result, Madfinger's third-person shooter Shadowgun and Hutch's driving title Smash Cops will be pre-installed on every GameStick console.

GameStick's launch line-up will also include R-Type, Riptide GP, Ski Safari, Gunslugs, Towelfight 2: The Monocle of Destiny, and Reckless Getaway, among others.

This GameStick pre-order announcement follows on from last week's news that Pivos Technology will be delivering the XBMC media management platform to GameStick.

Rather interestingly, GAME has also secured the exclusive rights to sell the Ouya micro-console, a.k.a. GameStick's major rival.

Both of these Android-powered consoles began life on Kickstarter, where they were both ultimately successfully funded. You will be able to purchase the GameStick and Ouya consoles from GAME stores this June.
