The iOS version of handsome physics-platformer Unmechanical finally has a concrete launch date: March 18th.

We've been following Unmechanical since July last year, when indie devs Talawa Games and Teotl Studios first introduced us to the game's adorable robot protagonist.

In the game, it's your job to guide this propeller-powered droid through a series of subterranean 2.5D environments, flicking switches and triggering mechanisms as you go.

By interacting with the industrial contraptions you encounter along the way, you will open doors and unblock obstructions, ultimately clearing your character's route to those all-important exits.

Though we're delighted that this Unreal-powered stunner is almost within our grasp, we actually expected Unmechanical to land on iOS at the end of August last year.

However, according to the twin devs, "a couple of weeks turned into a few months", with the team opting to polish the App Store version until it felt "perfect".

In that time, the PC version was released to generally favourable reviews.

Personally, we think Unmechanical's floaty physics controls and compact campaign are ideally suited to the iOS platform. However, we'll have to wait until Monday to find out if our suspicions are right.
