Danish developer House on Fire needs your help to make episode two of its time-travelling point-and-click series The Silent Age.

The House on Fire team is asking for $25,000 in donations, and has put a progress bar - and a link to its PayPal donations page - on its blog.

In the developer's own words: "The story has been written, many of the puzzles have been designed, and we've created some of the scenes as well."

But the cash injection is needed to make "more puzzles, graphics, sound, and music, and [for] writing the narrative".

As with the first episode, part two will be available for free. "We're not in it for the money," House on Fire says. "We simply need enough money to make the wheels turn."

We loved the first episode of The Silent Age, a Day of the Tentacle-style adventure where mustachioed hero Joe bounces between a groovy 1972 and a post-apocalyptic 2012.

In fact, we decided it was one of our favourite games from February ("elegant" and "ingenious", we said), and penned a hugely popular walkthrough for it.
