Updated on March 7th, 14:39: SpellTower is now available to download from Google Play [buy]. It'll cost you £1.32 / $1.99.

Original story follows...

Zach Gage's Gold Award-winning 2011 iPhone and iPad word game SpellTower will finally be released on Google Play and the Amazon Appstore this Thursday.

You lucky Android-loving buggers.

SpellTower, you see, is a word search with a twist. Your aim in this title is to make words of three letters by tracing a path horizontally, vertically, or diagonally across a grid of mixed letters.

Ins and outs

This puzzler features five different game modes. These include a Tower mode, which tasks you with nabbing the highest score you can from 150 letters; and Rush mode, in which you're up against a clock.

There's also a multiplayer mode that allows you to compete against your friends over wi-fi.

At review, we called SpellTower "an uncommonly attractive and thoughtfully designed puzzler", and remarked that it's "a must-buy for word fiends".
