Can YOU beat the Brazilian Ministry of Defence at endless-runner Banana Kong?
Probably
We're quite used to reading stories about celebrities or members of the UK Parliament having a soft spot for popular mobile titles.
David Cameron, for example, is reportedly a huge fan of Rovio's Angry Birds, while Hollywood actor Alec Baldwin was purportedly thrown off an American Airlines flight for playing Words With Friends.
What we're not used to reading about, however, is stories that involve ENTIRE governmental departments.
"I've reached 370 meters in Banana Kong. Download the game from the App Store and try to beat me," somebody on the official Twitter account of Brazil's Ministry of Defence tweeted on Sunday.
Before the original tweet was removed some six hours after it had been posted, various social butterflies feverishly retweeted (over 3,000 times, in fact) the rather modest Banana Kong achievement.
According to Banana Kong creator FDG Entertainment, this rather humourous incident has had a positive effect on its Bronze Award-winning endless-runner.
In fact, downloads of Banana Kong increased by a whopping 500 percent within 24 hours of the Ministry of Defence for Brazil's cock-up going viral.
