Dive into Danmaku Unlimited 2's plasma pool, and know what it is to be purified by laser

Prepare to fly straight into bullet-hell in Doragon Entertainment's newly released iOS shmup Danmaku Unlimited 2.

Inspired by the arcade shooters of the '80s and '90s, Danmaku Unlimited 2 contains all the necessary ingredients to stand (fly?) shoulder-to-shoulder with its peers.

Firstly, it features a small spacecraft which you must navigate around aggressors, and tailor to your liking with upgrades.

Secondly, it boasts an array of mechanised baddies, ranging from small fighters all the way up to hulking great bosses.

Finally - and most importantly - Danmaku Unlimited 2 has bullets. Purple ones. And lots of them.

Purple rain

In fact, the bullets never stop coming in Danmaku Unlimited 2, with wave after wave of crackling plasma bolts constantly washing over your Senko fighter, threatening to drown you in a fizzing sea of deadly lilac energy.

If that sounds like super-fun times, it's because it is. So much so, in fact, that we've just given Danmaku Unlimited 2 a Pocket Gamer Silver Award.

Danmaku Unlimited 2 is available from the App Store in both lite [download] and premium form [purchase for £2.99 / $4.99] right this second.
