Oh, hi.

Welcome to "Best of the rest - Android edition", Pocket Gamer's round-up of all the new 'droid games that we didn't find the time to cover this week.

Hundreds of new games hit Google Play every day, so we can never write about everything. Instead, we pick and choose the most interesting and noteworthy apps.

To make sure no one is left out, though, we like to chuck a few of the most exciting 'leftover' new Android games in this here article.

Let us know if you like the look of any of these.

Cypress Inheritance

As Blade Runner, I, Robot, and Star Wars have taught us, droid slaves always seem to cause trouble.

Take Cypress Inheritance, a first-person adventure game, for example. In it, you are cast as a member of a noble bloodline who visits an old mansion to claim her inheritance.

Sounds like a simple task, right?

However, before you can say 'Still Alive', the android housekeeper starts whispering cool threats in your ears and setting robotic knights on your entitled ass.

Guns 4 Hire

As my grandma always used to tell me, life is cheap and money talks.

So it goes with Guns 4 Hire, a top-down squad shooter with a view to a kill (or 2,000 of them).

Perforate evil dictators and drug lord fools using an impressive arsenal of weaponry. Throw up high-calibre turrets that will drop enemies while you fix your cuticles. Demonstrate your bravery by calling in an air strike and hiding in a bunker.

Just make sure you keep those bills paid, son.

Covenant of Solitude

Trust. Betrayal. Friendship. Love. Hate. Funny-coloured hair.

Yep, you guessed it: it's Kemco's latest JRPG, Covenant of Solitude.

You are one of the Genies, a group of gifted individuals capable of communing with and controlling monsters.

It's up to you, therefore, to unite the tribes of Dragons, Fairies, Beast, and Vampires against the evil Empire (no, not that evil Empire).

Angry Cowboy
By clgame - download on Android

It was tough in the Old West. Back then, men were men, horses were horses, and everyone had a flamethrower on his hip.

Wait... what??

Either I missed a seriously action-packed episode of Deadwood, or clgame has taken some historical liberties with its cowboy-themed side-scroller.

The Angry Cowboy gameplay may be a bit jerky, but the character designs have a lot going for them, and the special move animations are entertainingly ridiculous.

James pivoted to video so hard that he permanently damaged his spine, which now doubles as a Cronenbergian mic stand. If the pictures are moving, he's the one to blame.
