This week is pretty huge for American Nintendo 3DS gamers, with the launch of a new Fire Emblem, and a new title from the Cave Story developer. Yessiree.

In comparison, Europeans haven't got such a great week. That is to say, we have... erm... absolutely nothing.

Indeed, Nintendo has fired over the news that nothing is coming out on the eShop this week in Europe, besides a video called The Beet Party: Beet Scratch.

This is the first week in a few months now (besides Christmas week, of course) that there's been no new games released in the online store. Sad times.

But that won't stop the American store feeling all jolly. Don't worry, Europeans - our Fire Emblem time will come in April.

US eShop releases

Fire Emblem Awakening is the big one. Out on February 4 (that's Monday) you'll be leading an army of knights, mages, archers and other fantasy dudes and dudettes into war.

If you want to check it out right this second, there's a demo available to download via the eShop. Go grab.

Once you've given that demo a go, go grab Ikachan from Daisuke Amaya. You play a squid who swims around underground caverns, helping other creatures out.

Essentially, it's Cave Story underwater. It only costs $4.99 too.

You've got a few other releases too. Bloody Vampire is an action platformer with RPG elements, while Witch's Cat is a sort of platform puzzler.

Both look relatively neat, although we should have reviews sometime soon if you'd rather wait.

Finally, you've got the classic Ice Climber for the Virtual Console. It's all about climbing up as high as you can, while dodging a barrage of winter-type creatures. That costs $4.99.

And that's your rather hefty lot. Hopefully us Europeans will get this much next week too.
