Infinite Scoop: iOS 6.1 beta 5 hints at 128GB iPhone and iPad
A weekly round-up of the juiciest Apple rumours
Each and every day, we have to sit at our desks in Pocket Gamer Towers and sort through hundreds of new - and often outlandish - iPhone and iPad rumours.
It's a bit of a boring job. But, we've had a brainwave.
Instead of reporting on every single rumour that we stumble across while surfing the interwebs, we're simply going to feature the juiciest (no pun intended) Apple-related tittle-tattle in a handy round-up.
Sound good? Then read on.
Going forwardFrench website NoWhereElse has posted images of speaker components from two future iPhone iterations. Well, at least that's what the site thinks they are.
According to the website's report, the components come from the next-generation iPhone 5S (which will apparently sport the same design as its predecessor) and Apple's so-called iPhone 6 (which will apparently boast a whole new design).
If this report is to be believed, the iPhone 5S will launch this summer, while the iPhone 6 will hit store shelves around the world in early 2014.
Naturally, you should always take Apple-related rumours with a pinch of salt, but NoWhereElse has a decent record when it comes to the veracity of iPhone and iPad spy shots.
It's getting bigger
Apple's iOS 6.1 beta 5 contains a reference to compatibility with 128GB devices.
Back in 2009, Tim Cook's company launched the iPhone 3GS and doubled its smartphone's storage from 8GB and 16GB to 16GB and 32GB.
Apple then introduced a 64GB model with the iPhone 4S, so it's entirely possible that The Big A will launch a 128GB variant of the iPhone 5S.
