Aussie studio Firemonkeys has released a new developer diary in which it details the process of creating tracks for upcoming racer Real Racing 3.

According to executive producer Rob Murray, working with partners to license real-world tracks has been one of the studio's biggest challenges to date.

Creating a reasonable in-game representation of these tracks hasn't been easy, either.

Firemonkeys has used photo references of every angle of every track, as well as engineering data and elevation data, to recreate each circuit as accurately as possible.

Besides real-world tracks, Real Racing 3 will feature a completely original street circuit that's based around the corner from the dev's studio in Melbourne.

Real Racing 3 should blast onto the iPhone and iPad at the end of February.

As you can see from the video above, it's looking absolutely gorgeous. We can't wait to take this one for a spin.
