Digital Hero Games's strange Guitar Hero-esque rhythm-action game Cowbell Hero is now available to download from the App Store for a whopping £4.99 / $6.99.

Why is it strange?

Well, in Cowbell Hero you don't fulfil every young boy's dream and learn to play the guitar or the drums. You know, like a true rock star.

Instead, you're tasked with becoming the world's biggest, best, and most renowned cowbell player. How glamorous.

The catalogue

You do this by tapping your screen to play along to 16 officially licensed classic tracks from the likes of the Blue Oyster Cult and the unquestionably excellent Creedence Clearwater Revival.

You can also jam along to ten original tracks from a variety of unexpected genres, including drum 'n' bass and dubstep.

If you fancy taking Cowbell Hero for a spin, you can download it right now for your iPhone for £4.99 / $6.99.
