Games Workshop's boardgame Space Hulk heading to iOS in 2013
These genes were made for stealing
Danish indie dev Full Control is bringing Games Workshop's corridor-based boardgame Space Hulk to iOS in 2013.
A spin-off from the Warhammer 40,000 tabletop wargame, Space Hulk shifted players' focus from the expansive and well-populated battlefields that characterised the 40K universe to tight corridors and small-scale combat.
Players control a squad of Space Marine Terminators whose job it is to search abandoned freighters (or 'space hulks') for artefacts, tech, and potential alien threats.
Drawing from the 'Sin of Damnation' campaign from the third-edition boardgame, Space Hulk will pit you against waves of quad-armed alien nasties called "Genestealers".
You can tackle the 12 levels either on your own or with a co-op buddy via cross-platform multiplayer (PC, Mac, and iOS).
In keeping with the customisable nature of the Space Hulk boardgame, Full Control's 3D digital re-imagining of the game will contain a level editor and a system for sharing user-generated content with other players.
Space Hulk will be arriving on the App Store sometime in 2013. We'll keep you posted.
