Back in April, Shadowrun's original creator Jordan Weisman successfully clawed $400,000 (and more) out of the hands of the Kickstarter community to fund reboot Shadowrun Returns.

We expected Shadowrun Returns to be released in January 2013, but the game's developer has confirmed that it'll be delayed slightly.

It should, in fact, pop up on the App Store and on Google Play next year sometime between the beginning of May and the end of June. Bummer.

Why? Well, the Kickstarter campaign attracted $1,836,447 in donations. This total far exceeded the team's initial $400,000 goal, and has led to increased ambitions.

"As we announced a few months ago, we've backed off our original delivery date of January 2013," an update on the project's Kickstarter page reads.

"It might've worked for the scope of the game we originally envisioned but as our ambitions grew, so did the time we needed to deliver."

"Plus, we made a big move from our original top-down camera to an isometric point of view and that took serious R&D time. Right now, according to our estimates, we're looking at May or June."
