And the rest... PSP emulator for Android, Abe Speak, Angry Birds Christmas update

Welcome back to 'and the rest…', where we chuck all the news stories, updates, and random new releases that didn't quite deserve a news story all to themselves into one big article.

Groovy.

New releases

PPSSPP is apparently a PSP emulator for Android, albeit one in a pre-alpha state and rocking extremely limited compatibility. I tried one of the few playable games - Puzzle Bobble Deluxe - on a Nexus 7, but it was too slow to get past the 'start' menu. One to keep an eye on, though.

Chillingo has dropped one of its top games onto Google Play. We loved clever platformer This Could Hurt on iOS, calling it a "refreshing take on the platformer genre". It's now on Android for the oh-so-tempting price of free.

Abe Speak is a 69p / 99c soundboard, based on PSone classic Oddworld: Abe's Oddysee. You can make Abe whistle, laugh, chant, and fart. Yep, this one wears its "crude humour" hat with pride.

Retro platform fave Sonic CD is now available on Windows Phone 7 and 8 for $4.99. This faithful Sega CD port's got widescreen support; Xbox achievements and leaderboards; and both the US and Japanese soundtracks. Everyone's happy.

Draw a Stickman: Epic is a creative little game, in which you get to flex your artistic muscles, and your mad doodles become the game's graphics. Previously exclusive to iOS, it's now on Android with a free trial to get you started.

Dragon's Dream is an interesting app. Part-game, part-gallery, it's a collection of artwork from fantasy artist Roger Dean. Gamers will know him for his Psygnosis cover art on games like Shadow of the Beast and Barbarian.

Updates

Scrappy 69p / 99c slugfest Punch Quest has received a small update. It contains three new powers, various bug fixes, and some tweaks. A big update (featuring pets!) is out in December.

The first update to Loren Brichter's Letterpress is a doozy. It's now possible to request a rematch, there are more words in the dictionary, and various bugs have been fixed. Get it here.

Cutesy do-it-yourself charmfest LittleBigPlanet PS Vita is getting a brilliant batch of DLC this week. You'll be able to dress Sackboy up as Alias, Unica, Raven, and Kat from the criminally underloved Gravity Rush. The costumes will be available separately, or as a pack.

On the horizon

Angry Birds Seasons is getting a Christmas update. I know, right?! Who saw THAT coming?! AngryBirdsNest has the scoop: apparently, it will be called Winter Wonderham.

Rest of the rest

Grand Theft Auto: Vice City has been pulled from digital shops on PC, due to a licensing issue with one of the songs. Rockstar told Game Informer that the issue will not affect the upcoming iOS edition.
