If you reside in the UK or US, be sure to keep your eyes on the skies tomorrow, for Stan Lee's free-falling superhero game Verticus is set to plummet into your App Store's atmosphere.

Featuring voice work by the legendary co-creator of Marvel heroes like Iron Man, X-Men, and The Avengers, this action-oriented iOS titles casts you as Verticus, the jump-suited defender of an earth under siege.

To protect your planet from the evil Obliterators, you must free-fall through the earth's atmosphere, fighting enemies and avoiding obstacles as you go.

It doesn't stop there, though. The aliens are building a doomsday device in the centre of the planet, meaning you're going to have to dive straight into the earth's molten core if you plan on saving the day.

In between periods of perilous descent, you'll be able to upgrade your suit with collected materials, which will improve both your attacking and defensive capabilities.

As you can see from the trailer above, Verticus has a definite AaaaAAaaaAAAaaAAAAaAAAA!!! vibe about it, especially in the skyscraper sections. We'll have to wait until tomorrow to take the plunge ourselves, though.

Verticus has already landed in the New Zealand App Store, so it should be available in the UK and US from midnight tonight, priced £1.49 / $1.99.
