How to play as Assassin's Creed III hero Connor in Liberation on Vita

If you buy Assassin's Creed III on PS3 and Assassin's Creed III: Liberation on Vita, you'll unlock a bonus mission in the portable game where you get to play as Native American hero Connor.

The upcoming Liberation game stars Aveline de Grandpré, an African-French assassin and the first female killer in the AssCreed franchise. Her story is set in 18th-century New Orleans.

We knew that Aveline would cross paths with Connor - the hero of the Xbox 360 and PS3 game - but Ubisoft has now revealed that the Vita version will feature a mission in which you play as the tomahawk-wielding badass.

All you have to do is pledge your allegiance to Sony, and buy both the PS3 version and the Vita edition of Assassin's Creed III. Then, choose 'Extras' from the Vita version's menu, and connect to your PS3 to unlock the content.

You'll also get Connor's trademark tomahawk for Aveline to use, an extra multiplayer character, and an instant upgrade to Aveline's ammunition pouches.

Assassin's Creed III: Liberation hits Vita on October 31st - the same day as Assassin's Creed III debuts on consoles.

We're working our way through the former now, and will have a review ready soon.
