See Luke and Leia in action (not like that)

Rovio reveals first gameplay footage of Angry Birds Star Wars

Rovio has released the first gameplay footage from upcoming franchise mash-up Angry Birds Star Wars, showing the feathered incarnations of Luke and Leia.

The trailer (below) gives us a glimpse of two levels: one set on Luke Skywalker's home world Tatooine, and another on the ice planet Hoth.

First, we see Luke (the Red Bird) rocketing across the Tatooine skyline towards a cluster of pigs, who have been dressed up as Tusken Raiders.

Just before he hits the pig's homestead, though, our Jedi hero whips out a lightsaber and goes all "do or do not" on the support blocks.

Meanwhile, on Hoth, Pink Bird Leia appears to be rocking some kind of tractor beam ability, which she uses to pull out the front leg of an AT-AT Walker, sending the whole thing crashing into the snow. Not bad, your highnessness.

We're expecting more Angry Birds Star Wars characters to be teased over the course of the week, all leading up the game's November 8th release on iOS, Android, and Windows Phone.
