A spot of block busting

Airtight Games, the indie studio behind Quantum Conundrum, has released Pixld: a curious puzzler that tasks players with destroying as many blocks as they can against the clock.

Here's how it works. Blocks that are touched change colour, and when when four blocks of identical colours touch, they cause a match. The catch is that every surrounding block also changes colour.

A variety of modes pushes this simple concept into brain-busting territory. There's a 60 second time attack, while LEVLD mode sees successful matches rewarded with added time on the clock, and MUSTMATCH forces you to think critically as one wrong move will end your game.

Pixld is far removed from Airtight's previous games, but it looks like a promising (and, at only 69p / 99c, cheap) addition to its catalogue.
