Welcome back to Pocket Gamer's round-up of the latest iPhone, iPod touch, and iPad mid-week releases.

As you all probably know by now, we produce this round-up piece each week because otherwise we'd be here until Sunday writing up individual articles on every new game that hits the App Store.

Anyway, these games have recently hit Apple's New Zealand outlet, meaning they should be available to download in the UK and US from around midnight this evening.

The excitement is palpable.

iPhone A Wonderland Story
By Forest Moon Games - buy for iPhone

Want to help a white rabbit escape from Alice's clutches so that he can make it to his appointment with the Queen in a timely fashion? Of course you do.

Instead of taking control of the rabbit, though, you control Wonderland.

So, you've got to make sure the little bunny's path is hazard-free and ensure he keeps his distance from Alice. Harder than it sounds, mind.

Symphonica
By Square Enix - download free for iPhone

Symphonica is a "new breed of music game" that uses "breezy controls and tightly integrated gameplay" to give you a taste of what it's like to be an up-and-coming conductor.

You can play through the first three chapters of this tune-'em-up completely free of charge. You can purchase additional episodes for £1.99 / $2.99 apiece, buy packs of four episodes for £4.99 / $6.99, or buy all 12 episodes in one fell swoop for £10.49 / $14.99.

As its name suggests, Gameloft's new free-to-play title is all about rescuing animals from a greedy poacher and giving them a new home.

Once you've rescued the little blighters, you can breed them in order to create über-rare and legendary species.

True Skate
By True Axis - buy for iPhone and iPad

According to its App Store description, True Skate is the "most authentic skateboarding game available on iOS or any other platform". In fact, the "only thing more authentic is an actual skateboard".

You can barrel around a "beautiful" skate park that's packed with ledges, stairs, and grind rails, as well as a bowl, half-pipe, and quarter pipes.

Sega's Sonic Jump is a Doodle Jump-style title that features two game modes: Story mode, which features 36 different levels; and Arcade mode, which is a endless mode similar to Lima Sky's aforementioned jumper.

Don't Look Back
By Terry Cavanagh - download free for iPhone and iPad

Terry Cavanagh, the indie developer behind VVVVVV, has just released Don't Look Back.

Don't Look Back is completely free and doesn't contain in-app purchases or "any of that nonsense".

You're 24 hours away from the apocalypse.

Instead of putting your head between your legs and kissing your backside goodbye, you decide to save as many innocent people as you possibly can. Bravo.

Aloha from Hawaii
By Forge Replay - download free for iPhone and iPad

Where do penguins go when they're bored of the South Pole? Hawaii, apparently.

You take control of four different penguins in this platformer: Annie, Bob, Max, and Ziggy.

Unsurprisingly, each of them has a unique characteristic. Max, for example, is strong and athletic, whereas Bob is, erm, fat.
