As expected, hyper-realistic skateboarding sim True Skate has just ollied onto the New Zealand App Store.

In this latest interactive outing from Jet Car Stunts creator True Axis, the developer attempts to bring an authentic recreation of the board-worrying pastime to your iPhone and iPad.

Rather than pawing awkwardly at a floating D-pad, however, you can flick different areas of the board in True Skate to perform all manner of tricks and stunts.

In order to propel yourself forward and move around the skate park - which is full of all manner of stairs, ledges, pipes, and grind rails - you simply drag your finger along the ground.

Pipe dreams

Once you're in motion, you can test your dexterity (and True Skate's impressive-looking physics engine) by having a stab at a number of tricks, including overcrooks, pop shove-its, nightmare flips, and suski grinds.

If you live to grind (not that kind of grind - the fun kind), then make sure you pick up True Skate from the UK and US App Stores from midnight tonight. Expect a price tag of £1.49 / $1.99.
