Tender Loving Care, the 1998 interactive thriller from Aftermath Media, has just been ported onto iPhone and iPad.

A product of a time when designers were experimenting with FMV sequences in their games, Tender Loving Care is the offspring of a point-and-click title and a movie melodrama.

Acting as both player and director, you have to assist Doctor Turner (played by none other than Mr John Hurt) in untangling the web of intrigue that has ensnared three of his patients.

By answering Turner's questions and making crucial decisions, you influence the direction in which the story unfolds. Thus, there are multiple storylines and endings available, all dependent on the choices you make.

Time's up

To bring this "provocative" (read: a bit sexy) 20th-century title up to date, co-creator Rob Landeros worked with Trilobyte Games on tailoring Tender Lover Care for touchscreen devices.

And should you be lucky enough to be in possession of an Apple TV, you can beam the Tender Loving Care action onto your HD TV screen via AirPlay for the full cinematic experience.

If you think you could use a little Tender Loving Care, download it from the App Store now for a fee of £9.99 / $13.99.
