Upcoming iOS eye-catcher Prevail receives extended gameplay trailer

Johnny Two Shoes's upcoming iOS game Prevail has been difficult to categorize since its announcement back in February.

This is because the open-world, two-dimensional adventure title incorporates several gameplay elements that appear familiar but it presents them in a novel and interesting fashion.

Prevail's paper puppet artwork and quest system, for example, recalls the style of Scribblenauts or Johnny Two Shoes's earlier Plunderland, while the the UFO-jacking game system is more Grand Theft Auto than anything else.

Suffice it to say that we've been both interested in and confused by the gameplay of Prevail. Thankfully, we now have a bit of new information to go on.

Roll that unedited footage

The new information in question is an unedited, four-minute long gameplay trailer that gives a great glimpse of how Prevail both looks and plays.

In the trailer, we see the main character out on a quest to rescue his friends who were abducted by a UFO. He then takes to mining with TNT which, in addition to being readily available, deforms the terrain of the planet with its explosions.

Once the questing portion of the gameplay is completed, action begins as the character readies a bow and arrow before switching to a ray gun to do battle with a hostile UFO.

We still don't have a release date or release window for the game, but we will keep you updated with either as soon as they surface.
