Silent Hill: Book of Memories receives firm release date
We'll believe it when we see it
Waiting for Silent Hill: Book of Memories to arrive for the PS Vita has felt a bit like waiting for a man named Godot.
Konami first intended the Vita-exclusive horror game to be available in March of 2012, but later delayed the game's release until May 31st.
The summer has come and gone without news of the game, so we're a bit skeptical of Konami's latest release dates for the game - October 16th for North America and November 2nd for Europe - but the presence of a playable demo on the PlayStation Network is rather encouraging.
The horror, the horrorSilent Hill fans might be disappointed by the isometric viewpoint and more action-oriented nature of Book of Memories as they are both marked departures from the gameplay of previous titles in the venerable survival horror franchise.
Based on the trailer below, Book of Memories is more of a top-down action roleplaying game than it is a traditional Silent Hill title and a comparison to Diablo set in the Silent Hill universe would not be altogether unfair.
Still, if you're eager to go a few more rounds with Pyramid Head on your Vita, then the wait will (hopefully) be over soon.
