Demo for Silent Hill: Book of Memories available on Vita tomorrow

Konami is opening the first page of Silent Hill: Book of Memories tomorrow, allowing Vita owners to download a playable demo via the PlayStation Network.

This much-delayed title marks a significant departure from the survival-horror series's past.

Instead of trying to recapture the cloying claustrophobia which has defined the franchise hitherto, Book of Memories dev WayForward has created a different beast altogether here: a top-down multiplayer-focused action-puzzler.

Up to four players will be able to link up wirelessly and co-operate to solve puzzles, find weapons, and bludgeon nasties back to whatever dimensional rift they squelched out of.

Four's a crowd

Silent Hill: Book of Memories does feature a single-player campaign, of course, the first two zones of which will be included in tomorrow's demo.

Those who download the demo will also be privy to the game's opening cinematics, which Konami is hoping will get them in the mood for an all-new take on the faltering franchise.

Expect Silent Hill: Book of Memories to hit stores shelves sometime this autumn. Provided it isn't delayed again, that is.
