The sixth-generation iPhone is finally here. Yes, you can walk into one of Apple's 388 retail stores and pick up the iPhone 5 right now.

Well, providing it isn't already sold out, that is.

In the UK, a 16GB SIM-free iPhone 5 (in black & slate or white & silver) will set you back £529. It's £599 for an iPhone 5 with 32GB of storage, and £699 if you really need 64GB.

In the US, you can grab the iPhone 5 on a two-year contract from AT&T, Verizon, or Sprint. Apple's 16GB model costs just $199, the 32GB model will set you back $299, and the 64GB model is $399.

Going, going...

Apple recently announced that more than two million people pre-ordered its new smartphone online, which is double the number of pre-orders for the iPhone 4S last year.

If you decide to purchase your new iPhone from the Cupertino company's website, by the way, it'll be three to four weeks before you actually get your mitts on it.

And if you decide to take out an iPhone 5 contract with one of the big five UK telcos, on the other hand, check out this tariff comparison guide first. It's ace.
