Are you familiar with classic PC, PlayStation, Nintendo 64, and Dreamcast racer Re-Volt? If not, don't worry: you'll soon be able to grab it on an iOS-powered device of your choosing and check it out.

In fact, according to a tweet from Nick Baynes, the head of developer Big Bit, this small chunk of 1999 will be available in the next couple of weeks.

The original Re-Volt was packed to the rafters with 28 stock cars, 14 tracks, a special free-roam stunt arena, and both single-player and multiplayer game modes.

The latter mode allowed you to compete in a regular race, or enter a special mode in which you had to retain possession of a star for as long as possible. There was also a track editor.

While it's currently unknown what features will make it into the upcoming iOS port, we presume most - if not all - of the above attractions will be present and accounted for upon Re-Volt's App Store arrival.

We'll let you know as soon as it becomes available for download.
