3DS Lost Planet spin-off E.X. Troopers won't be released outside of Japan
A world of disappointment
Capcom has no plans to localise Lost Planet's 3DS spin-off E.X. Troopers outside of Japan.
That's the word from Christian Svensson, Capcom's senior vice president, who answered a fan's question on the company's Ask Capcom forum. He said there are no "plans to bring it Westward at this time".
E.X. Troopers is a colourful anime-inspired game with manga cut-scenes and teenage characters. It's a far cry from the gritty trilogy of snow-topped shooters on Xbox 360 and PS3.
According to Lost Planet executive producer Kenji Ohguro, E.X. Troopers was a way to shove the "festival atmosphere" and "ridiculous scenarios" of Lost Planet 2 into a more suitably styled game and focus on serious storytelling in the franchise's third outing.
Fans assumed the game would be translated into English when Capcom trademarked the name in the US and Europe in 2011. Sadly, it looks like it's the latest game to lose out on localisation.
E.X. Troopers, and its six-player co-op battle mode, will be shown off at Tokyo Game Show later this month. The game will launch on 3DS (and PS3) on November 22nd.
