Glu takes to the skies with air combat shooter Bombshells: Hell's Belles

Gun Bros. is Glu Mobile's most successful game in recent years, and it's a universe the company is looking to expand with the announcement of Bombshells: Hell's Belles.

A change of gender isn't the only new thing either, with the game switching from a topdown perspective shooter into a 3D air combat game.

This adds an element of difficulty to the controls, but from what we can make out from the video (see below), the game appears to be very arcadey so it should be as pick-up-and-play as any airplane game.

Some things remain the same, though: as with Gun Bros., there is a real-time multiplayer mode that will enable you to play either cooperatively or competitively.

All about the load out

Of course, in this sort of free-to-play game, customisation is a massive part of the fun, with 200 planes, cannons, missile launchers and other armaments to unlock, not to mention all those smartbomb power ups.

The game will be released for Android and iOS, with players using either type of devices able to play with and against each other.

Bombshells: Hell's Belles is expected to be released on Thursday 6th September.
