All rise. Pocket Gamer Court is in session. Judge Jon presiding.

Square Enix is no stranger to absurd prices, but our jaws still dropped a few inches when The World Ends with You: Solo Remix landed on the App Store with a £12.99 price tag.

This is a port of a four-year-old DS game, after all, and other Nintendo expats - including Grand Theft Auto: Chinatown Wars and Ghost Trick - have hit the iPhone and iPad at far more agreeable price points.

But, on the other hand, £13 isn't really that much to ask for a critically revered game from one of the world's most famous publishers. Plus, developers often say that the mobile industry cannot really sustain itself if the games are sold for less than the price of a Mars bar.

Opinions, please

What do YOU think? Is Square Enix asking too much for its games, or is it the only mobile games publisher that's asking a sensible price for apps?

Did you buy The World Ends with You this week or were you put off by the game's prohibitively expensive price sticker. What's your upper limit for iOS apps, and what's the most you've ever spent on one game?

Post your opinions, angry reactions, and scribbled-down diatribes in the comments section below. Then, sometime in September, we'll get our resident Judge to weigh up all the evidence and provide a final judgement.

Previously on Pocket Gamer Court, Judge Jon declared in-app purchases guilty of sucking the fun out of games. He also decided that the iPhone 5's rumoured widescreen display is a positive move for the smartphone.
