Gamescom '12: EA's Origin platform is heading to Android
|

We told you back in June 2011 that EA was bringing its Steam-esque digital distribution platform to mobiles.

Over a year has passed since then, and although there's some support for EA's digital service in the firm's iOS titles, Origin integration is still noticeably missing from our Android smartphones and tablets.

That's set to change very soon. Peter Moore, EA's COO, has revealed at Gamescom that Origin is on its way to Google's Android platform, as well as to Facebook, Smart TVs, and Apple's OS X.

It's currently unknown what features Origin for Android will pack on arrival, but Moore did hint that the service could boast enhanced support for free-to-play titles, of which Google's OS has an abundance.

Origin-only exclusive content, live video feeds, and platform-specific interfaces were also hinted at.
